We saw value where
others saw waste
Terrafibre products are designed and produced by BioComposites Group (BCG) — a Canadian company based in the prairies that has spent years engineering products from the extraordinary qualities of common plants and trees, particularly industrial hemp.
In North America, industrial hemp has primarily been grown for its seed — used in cosmetics, nutrition, and food products. That left the fibrous stalk as a by-product, baled and left in fields across Western Canada. We saw an opportunity. That stalk contains some of the strongest natural fibres on earth.
"There are over 50,000 uses for industrial hemp — and we are happy to present you with one more."
We built a decortication and manufacturing facility in Drayton Valley, Alberta, to unlock that value. Raw material is sourced from local hemp farms, cleaned and processed, then needle-punched into our range of non-woven hemp fibre products.
